Frequently asked

Useful things to know up front.

  • Do you have set dates or sessions I can book onto?

No — every TJ Bushcraft day is planned from scratch around the group enquiring. Tell us roughly when works, and we will come back with options that fit.

  • How does the enquiry process work?

You fill in the enquiry form with your group details and what you would like to achieve. We come back with a tailored experience suggestion. From there we agree the date, location, group size and any details that matter.

  • What sort of group sizes do you take?

Anything from a small family group through to school years, youth groups and corporate teams. Group size shapes the plan — tell us what you have in mind and we will say honestly whether it fits.

  • Where do you run sessions?

We work in private woodland and have access to a range of suitable sites. Travel and location are part of the enquiry conversation — let us know your rough area.

  • What ages can take part?

We have run sessions with young children through to mixed adult groups. We adapt the activities, pace and tools used to suit the age range of the group.

  • What about the weather?

Sessions usually run rain or shine — we plan for the weather, not against it. If conditions ever make a session unsafe or seriously unenjoyable, we will tell you in advance and reschedule.

  • What kit do we need to bring?

Once your day is planned we send a clear kit list — usually suitable footwear, weather-appropriate clothes and a few personal items. Tools, fire kit and the woodland itself are on us.

  • How much does it cost?

Because every day is built around the group, there are no fixed prices on the website. Once we know your group size, location and what you would like to do, we will come back with a clear quote.

  • Is it suitable for people with limited mobility or specific needs?

Often yes — but please tell us about any access needs in your enquiry. We will be honest about what is and is not workable and adapt the day where we can.

  • Can we book a course or repeated visits for our school or group?

Yes. Many schools and youth groups come back for repeat sessions or longer programmes. Mention it in your enquiry and we will plan accordingly.

  • Can we book axe throwing on its own for a fete or event?

Yes — axe throwing is bookable as a standalone hireable stand at fetes, summer fayres, school events, festivals and corporate days. We arrive early, set up, run the activity and pack down. Depending on space and location, we can run a fire-lighting demo alongside it.

  • How much space does an axe-throwing stand need?

Roughly 10 m × 15 m of grass or hard standing works for a single throwing lane. We will confirm the exact footprint once we know your venue. Tell us where you are on enquiry and we will say honestly whether it fits.
